Pole dance as we know it was invented by Black sex workers in Southern strip clubs. This studio strives to be a SW-friendly space and to educate students about the roots of this movement style.

I'm Empyre (they/them)!! As an autistic transgender person, I've found pole dance to be a powerful way to reconnect with my body and unleash my self-expression. My style on the pole is high energy, blending strength, sensuality and flow.
I focus on teaching beginner pole dancers with an emphasis on creating a safe and welcoming space. I have taught 500+ people's first pole class!! I also teach inversions, conditioning and flexibility. By offering 1:1 lessons in my home, I hope to make pole dance accessible to students who prefer individual attention, flexible pacing, and sensory accommodation.
For experienced pole dancers, I'm also offering use of my home pole studio as a practice space without instruction, but with the same emphasis on creating a safe and welcoming space and accommodating individual needs.
